Frustrated at Wemo and google home!! Is anyone else having linking issues with Wemo IOT devices in google home?
I spent good part of 2 hours on this. Basically here is my issue, I had Wemo plugs and light switches working for 2 years today they all decided not to work. I could control them through the Wemo app but I can’t control them from google home. Yes I have tried to unlink and relink but it doesn’t work inside google home. It’s almost like they added some restrictions.

@shaqh more anecdotal evidence: I have one wemo outlet that I could never update firmware for. I tried to start it from several phones and it never really failed, but it never succeeded.

Got nervous about having a device on the network with out of date firmware, so I chucked it. It always seemed finicky.

@Wheresatom yes I think you are correct seems bit hit and miss. Incidentally what did you replace it with it !

@shaqh I replaced with some Wyze plugs that I really like. They were part of a now discontinued kit that included some motion sensors and some door sensors.
