It'd be very interesting to see a map of the #fediverse! Not a geophysical map, of course, but a logical one of servers and their federated interactions. Especially as it develops - seeing social networks grow in real time feels like a fascinating concept. #mastodev
@curtispf I'm sure there's work on this going on by many people, but for a start, an old friend @florian just posted a blog entry that features an instance connectivity graph: https://sigmoid.social/@florian/109536620431831124

Attached: 1 image After a few weeks on my #mastodon home instance sigmoid.social, I finally had time to wrap up what I started in November: Explore what's going on around here using the Mastodon API. Read my blog post if you're interested: https://casualcoding.com/exploring-the-fediverse/ As a teaser, here's an idea about who else has chosen sigmoid.social as their new home: Mostly ML folk, both from academia and commercial research labs (word cloud generated from user profile bio texts).

@julian @curtispf Thanks for the shoutout. There are other (less scrappy) projects which do a better job than my current approach. This one is the best one I'm aware of: https://www.comeetie.fr/galerie/mapstodon/
