New post: I've migrated my website from Wordpress to Hugo.

Or, more precisely: I've built a completely new website that just happens to live under the previous URL.

Moving to Hugo

I have so far avoided the typical “here’s my blogging tech stack” post that is then followed by the silence of not writing another post for several months. But you know what? Here it is anyways. Leaving Wordpress I have been a Wordpress user since 2006 or 2007. And I‘ve always been a fan. Still am, in a way. The fact that the Wordpress instance I installed circa 2010 still self-updates 15 years later without any hiccups is impressive. I also think the Gutenberg block editor for posts and pages is excellent.

Take a thermal printer, a Rasperry Pi, a tiny language model and you get: The @Cyber_Orakel

Now on the blog: The guide on how we built this little project for #38c3

Building a cyber oracle using a local LLM on a Raspberry Pi 5

For a few years now, I have been a regular attendant of the Chaos Communication Congress, this year called #38C3. But this congress is more fun when you bring your own project instead of only attending talks. The idea: Let's build a cyber oracle: A small machine for visitors to collect a prophecy

After a few weeks on my #mastodon home instance sigmoid.social, I finally had time to wrap up what I started in November: Explore what's going on around here using the Mastodon API.

Read my blog post if you're interested: https://casualcoding.com/exploring-the-fediverse/

As a teaser, here's an idea about who else has chosen sigmoid.social as their new home: Mostly ML folk, both from academia and commercial research labs (word cloud generated from user profile bio texts).

Exploring the Fediverse

Like many, I have been looking for a new digital community in the past few weeks (the old one is on fire) and have found a place on Mastodon. You can find and follow me at https://sigmoid.social/@florian I've picked the Mastodon instance sigmoid.social, an AI-related instance that is only 3 mo

There is SO much conversation about ChatGPT prompts and results and so VERY little conversation about the actual training data, model, and infrastructure that underly it. I've started to collect some of my learnings/resources on it (complete with fun prompts.) Feel free to add comments.
