At this point I'm fully convinced he only bought Twitter to run it into the ground in record time.

Nobody is that unprofessional by accident.

@fribbledom idk nothing is indicating any break with the petty vindictive spite he's shown his entire professional life
@fribbledom the thing is all the stuupid shit he does is stuff ive recognized in bosses and even can recognize in myself except i had reasons to not give into all my worst impulses and couldnt throw money at everything
@fribbledom i think he's just owned by his own filter bubble. Echo chamber idiocy.
@fribbledom I also think this is on purpose. If it's out of spite or with a more general agenda (e.g. remove a medium that connects journalists with left-wing followers) I can't see yet.
@fribbledom that was an impressive speedrun

@fribbledom but I know 44 billion reasons why not.

Let's face it, he is really not smart, nor clever, nor "visionary".

He claim to have founded "Tesla" but we know "Tesla was incorporated in July 2003 by Martin Eberhard and Marc Tarpenning as Tesla Motors."

He just have too much money and if I had too much of it, I would probably also make "crazy" investments.

@fribbledom
May have been "so you force me to buy this according to my words and against my will? See my revenge" ...
@fribbledom you know what is worse than people talking about you ?
@fribbledom
That aligns with his weird tweet at 7.30.
@fribbledom Actually, he IS a professional. But his profession is not engineering. It's lies and manipulation.
@fribbledom He has a long documented history of toxic management and inability to just not mouth off and then expect the world to bend which was less visible in previous roles, but extremely visible as the head of a social media site. I have a long history of thinking Musk was overrated by his fans, but this specific job was more or less the worst possible choice for him. And I suspect the toxic management culture meant no one could get him to stop before he signed the deal.
@fribbledom Imagine the reputational cost of this "operation". I doubt it was his intention.

Or maybe, he's just fed up with "running" businessed and wanted to go into politics? If he blew the birdsite up, he could still keep repeating that he was fighting for free speech and the leftists were responsible for his failure. Conservatives would probably buy it if they buy all the conspiracy theories.
@pfm @fribbledom I don't think all conservatives believe conspiracy theories...
