Vancouver's municipal election two months ago resulted in a shift in direction. @Lausterna and I used individual ballot data to understand this change through people's voting behaviour. https://doodles.mountainmath.ca/blog/2022/12/17/analyzing-ballot-composition-in-vancouver/
Analyzing Ballot Composition in Vancouver

Breaking down the individual ballot data for the 2022 Vancouver municipal election.

Individual ballot data is great for understanding voting behaviour. Here are the cross-correlations of votes for council candidates. Parties matter. A lot. But cohesion is stronger for some, e.g. ABC, and weaker for others, e.g. GREENs. And some parties get voted for together more often than others.
We can also look for clusters in the voting pattern to distill out prototypical ballot patterns. ABC, OneCity, TEAM, and to a lesser extent the GRRENs left their marks in defining party ballots.

@vb_jens Beautiful & such an insightful chart.
Also amazing & fantastic that City of Vancouvr publishes this data.

However hats off to you for making this succinct visual.
