@cardamomaddict @BrentButt not quite. You could register @BrentButt on mstdn.ca if you wanted. They are completely different and independent accounts. This is why the short version doesn't even highlight on my post, but the long form I used first does.

This is why having verified links in your bio is important. They are the core of trust on the #fediverse. Only the real Brent can have a verified link to their own website since it requires editing the site to have the verified mark.

@BrentButt No. It was "Toot!" when I started, but it's been "Publish" since about the time of the great darkening over at birdsite. (Just coincidence, I think. Honestly.)

The creator is German, and was unfamiliar with other meanings in English, but it's now changed.

My kid could have been named Kickma, Kissma or Titus except eventually they’ll be picking my housing, care and meal plans. Couldn’t risk it.
