I really enjoy playing Darktide! Whether it’s with 3 other people I don’t know, or 3 friends, the game is a blast. Incredible environments, fantastic gunplay (the sound and feel of the weapons is insanely good), and sure, it could use a few more missions and maps, but I played 30h, and I can see myself playing at least 10 to 20 more. For 40 bucks, I got more than my money’s worth! Definitely play it if you’re a 40K fan (and your PC is decent, because it’s badly optimized).
@thelinuxEXP 100% this, was pretty surprised, that solo queuing actually still is fun for me
@thelinuxEXP even my PC from 2020 with an RX 6700 XT is struggling and freezes up so I have to restart GDM and I'm playing on medium with frames locked to 60 with MangoHud and in game.
@thelinuxEXP After seeing that Henry Cavill is really into Warmhammer 4k ( i dont know anything about it) it got me interested in learning about the universe and giving Darktide a try.
@thelinuxEXP any issues or hiccups playing it on Linux?
@sileny_manzel No, it runs pretty well! Performance isn’t insanely good, but that’s also the same on Windows!
@thelinuxEXP totally agree! I bet it will only get better with time too.
@thelinuxEXP I suppose the game is pretty hard to optimize considering the amount of enemies and physics going on at all time, so yeah a good PC is pretty much a requirement here.
@thelinuxEXP I was so happy that it more or less worked out of the box on linux! Vermintide 2 is still a bit iffy (although possible now), but I was so happy that all I had to do was turn on FSR to get a decent online experience.

@thelinuxEXP I am personally quite shocked how much performance issues I had compared to Vermintide1/2.

Not that they were great in any particular way regarding Performance. Darktide hit hard.

And now I wait for my friends to get it once issues are ironed out.
