Hello my lovely writers! I'd love to hear about your recent writing joys. Give yourself a pat on the back, tell us about your writing bliss moments, and anything else writerly that you want to share. I want to cheer for you!

@JenVanderputten Hello! Current joy: beta-reading a great manuscript for a friend. Another recent writing joy/small victory: successfully managing to continue writing on my current project daily despite huge work-related deadlines. It wasn't easy, but I did it, and it really does feel like joyous victory.

How about you?

@ShellPeters That is fantastic! For me, beta reading feels like getting a backstage VIP pass πŸ₯°
@ShellPeters I've been finalizing my new writing website, getting it polished in design and adding some flash fiction to it. Will be launching in January 2023!

@JenVanderputten Okay, so November, in terms of NaNoWriMo, was a bust. I wrote as often as I could, but didn't come close to hitting 15k (my personal goal), let alone 50k. So, was kinda bummed out about that. And then December rolls around and I get a new PC, mostly for storage space and to play games without them chugging along.

Just in time to get bit by a writing bug. 10k words in a week in one story, with 2-3 more parts to go.

@LadyIrene I love this! I find that when I'm more relaxed, the words flow. I stopped doing NaNo, I'm more of a writing-in-spurts person.
@JenVanderputten I just did a plot for my #roleplay server (#writing adjacent) which was an epic arc where a married couple saves their kids. It was amazing and everyone enjoyed it.
@cyclops I love that arc, more families loving each other and helping each other in stories please yes 😭β™₯️ I have found it very helpful to do write ups of my D&D sessions from the POV of my characters. It's great writing practice and my fellow players & GM enjoy it 😊
@JenVanderputten I try to at least have an outline and the major characters done before starting a new storyline. I love doing plots where the people who are family or in love stick together, I think we focus too much on the easier "family breaks apart" vibe in popular culture.
@JenVanderputten I managed to get past a part that I’ve been struggling with for a good few weeks. Now my writing is flowing again. Woohoo.
@TeresaPurkis Yes! πŸ’ƒ It's such a great feeling when the words flow again 😌

@JenVanderputten
Hard to think after these two sneezed rocked my brain, but got some writing done on break yesterday, and some minor website tweaks on Sunday. That's... That's all I've got. Still waiting on more from the horror anthology I got accepted into months ago, would be cool if that came out next month, but not betting on it.

Happy Tuesday #WritersOfMastodon

@EvanderLFragoso All progress is good progress ☺️ Congratulations on the anthology!
