Wow, first noting that I have historically disagreed with Paul Graham (now @paulg) on just about everything, I think his having been booted off Twitter for snarking at the new no-competitive-links policy is pretty big news. A lot of Bay-Area types think the world of him.

@timbray @paulg This is an intriguing twist. Not just because pg isn't a valley-skeptic like us who is predisposed to be wary of Musk, but also because of what the purported cause was. The images I've seen so far of pg's last tweet only say that readers can find his mastodon link on his site - which is very indirect, even for Twitter's new draconian policy.

Gergely Orosz on Twitter

“Paul Graham - founder of Y Combinator, and someone who was supportive of Elon Musk since the Twitter takeover - announced he’s taking a break from Twitter, and suggested people can find his Mastodon account on his website. He was banned a few hours later. I cannot believe it…”

@mfowler @timbray @paulg I assumed the ban was more for the dissent in “This is the last straw. I give up” - granted these days Twitter rules are changing so often and on a whim it’s hard to know what’s going on.
