Musk continues to play Calvinball. Now he says "casually" sharing links to competitors is fine but "relentless advertising of competitors" will result in being banned. (None of this is actually specified in the policy announced today.)

The fact that these rules are so poorly defined is a feature, not a bug.
The point is that Musk can just decide where the line is and ban the accounts he doesn't like while permitting the accounts he does like to do what they want.
Selective enforcement is, of course, a main component of the ruling strategy in authoritarian systems which still need (for whatever reason, in whatever context) to have the legalistic fig leaf of justice and ethics:

@juddlegum There's already tools to circumvent this silly policy. Like this one that shortens URLs to places like Mastodon and other banned sources for Birdsite consumption.
