Hey so just wondering, how strong are the laws preventing Elon Musk from, say, banning you from driving your Tesla to Facebook HQ, deactivating your Starlink if you visit Mastodon, or shutting down your Neuralink implant if it detects you have seen the photo of him and Ghislaine Maxwell?
@tony
Imagine #DrEvil having control of everybody's Neurolink.
@tony spinning some ghost in the shell level webs here.
@tony it's kinda already happening. Believe me
@tony How strong are our laws preventing anyone from saying "screw the rules, I have money"?
@tony I never thought about that and I hate that I think that is possible.
@tony Or controlling all the oxygen on Mars
@tony private companies are private companies. read the TOS is the best i can say.
@tony The neuralink bit is worthy of a sci-fi writer. Please someone with better writing skills than myself run with it.
@tony You give too much credit if you think he'd shut down the Neuralink implant and not just make it explode in said persons head.
The car is a tangible… he could maybe stop updating the software (making it actually *safer*). The ISP service… that’s a month-to-month service they could just opt to not renew at the end of the month like your property manager could on a house/apartment lease…
@tony Laws are enforced with $ and appointing judges…

@tony Haha! Good points except maybe the Neuralink. That's clearly vaporware that's never gonna happen.

Maybe Tesla owners should think about owning a car that can be remotely affected by the guy we've learned so much more about in the last few weeks...

@tony
None of his technology even comes close to working that well 😂
