And if a post has been edited, there will be an asterisk next to the time it was posted, so you know it's been edited. And if you open the post, there's a dropdown on the date posted to check the editing history of the post, so you can see what was changed.
So if bad actors want to post something, garner responses, and change their original post, there's an audit trail providing receipts. The only way to avoid the audit trail would be to delete & re-draft, which loses all of the original commentary/likes/boosts.
