#introductions I'm a writer, filmmaker, YouTuber whose main focus is mobile filmmaking. Which these days includes smartphones, pocket cameras, and 360 cameras too
@SiHorrocks owning 360 cameras seems a little excessive, non?
@Marcsettle you don't use them? Surely an all seeing eye would be useful for mojo
@SiHorrocks I know that Dougal Shaw (not sure if he’s here yet) has incorporated them into his mojo work and there are some which can be rented for use, but a 360 camera can feel over-the-top for many people on many stories.
@Marcsettle I'm thinking events involving crowds where lots is going on, film 360 and reframe later - you won't miss anything
@SiHorrocks indeed - which is where they’ve been used by staff who hire them. But as the circumstances are less regular and more specialised, it’s not something I’ve been asked to do any training in.
@Marcsettle how cheap would they need to be before buying one is sensible?
@SiHorrocks given that the One x2 is £400 or so, the answer is “a lot” given that you can buy an SE 2022 for the same price!
@Marcsettle I now own an Insta360 GO 2, an X2, two X3s and a 1-inch 360 Edition 😄
@SiHorrocks only another 355 to go then 😱
@SiHorrocks it’s a pity the prices have not come down in the way they have for a gimble as you can pick up a quite good one now for 100 quid
@Marcsettle the first gimbal I bought was 100 quid, 5 years ago.
@Marcsettle @SiHorrocks It's a pity the prices for iPhones haven't come down to pick one up at 100 quid 😛
@SiHorrocks You're a great guy, that's what you are! ✌️
