Impressed by the ability of Chat GPT to understand Indian politics; oftentimes AIs are insufficiently trained on non-Western discourse/terms and their understanding ends up minimal/etc.

With that said, its use of language seems very western, even when you specifically request it to speak to you in Indian English. In this case, I had to specify all the Indian terms in the prompt to force Chat GPT to use it. (It also refused to use "aam aamdi" instead of "people" here despite my prompting, but that might have been gratuitous.) It seems to assume a Western audience/context unless specifically told otherwise. For instance, when I typed in Chinese characters "What should I have for breakfast?", it replied also in Chinese... with options like yogurt, avocado toast, and a smoothie.

Still, very impressive; could imagine this appearing in an Indian newspaper op-ed somewhere.
