Julianna Thompson@91toph @frank_bough @taylorlorenz Point…it is a big challenge to migrate that many people to new platform in a short period. It took years to grow Twitter and I am sure the servers at Mastodon would crumble if everyone jumped all at once.
@cjt @frank_bough @taylorlorenz also migrating alot of people from Twitter to Mastodon would require Mastodon to also be attractive to advertisers, something that Mastodon doesn't have the infrastructure, staff and policy to implement.

It'd need funding, but in particular curated ads were a mistake that unfortunately was loved by advertisers and the rich (and not enough others cared)

It's rather that content creators stay on twitter "because that's were people are" & people stay on twitter "because that's were content creators are"... It's just inertia. Someone has to start & as always that responsibility to change rests on each & every one of us individually! There is no excuse! 😉
