Should we set aside a whole day where people don't post links/news about politics/Elon/Twitter on this server?

Maybe like a "No Politics Sunday" or something similar?

We're not going to ban it outright because like 10% of the people talking politics are doing it correctly, but we have a lot of people that just spam links all day long with no interest in having a conversation about it and not contributing their own opinions so maybe let's take a break from that for a day?

@updates it is the pretence of the polling being somehow scientific and democratic that is Muskishy. Maybe I haven’t been on the network long enough, but I don’t see a volume of political submissions popping up. I am getting lots of cats though and the odd bare breast and penis.

@karimalrawi I don't know about scientific but it's the closest we can get to democratic for a Mastodon server. I could just start making changes but that's not really fun for anybody so I figured I'd ask the community how they'd feel about it.

@updates I get it. But really is it such a problem? I am not seeing those posts — maybe, as I said, because I am only a recent Mindly member. But if it is a problem then, by all means, do what you have to do.
