One of the coolest things I saw this year? It’s gotta be the tadpole of Microhyla borneesis living, growing, metamorphosing INSIDE Nepenthes ampullaria, a pitcher plant that appears plays host to this tiniest of frog species from the Bornean rainforest. As a detritus specialist, N. ampullaria appears to be the only known vegan pitcher plant that provides a key nursery to this frog. #nature #herps #plants #borneo
