So, yeah, turns out we have an over-reliance on #twitter for breaking news and supporting pro-democracy causes.

My question now is:

Has there been any groundwork for a forum of #journalists and #developers to address how #Mastodon can be changed *quickly* to fill the void?

Because there are some major barriers atm. And the clock is ticking.

There are a multitude of areas to tackle: news dissimination, technical issues, vulnerabilities, missing features, onboarding, best practices, etc.

Examples:

- Perhaps @Gargron can rethink the lack of a 'retweet' feature? It really slows down news dissimination.

- Explore --> News needs massive improvement.

- Lists implemention needs improvement. E.g., cannot access orhers' lists. Should be able to add hashtags to lists.

- Hashtag search is broken AF.

- Many news relay bot accounts do not self-identify as bots.

- How wil Mastodon deal with troll farm attacks?

- Who's leading the charge to get news orgs on here?
