Finally got some more mealworms for the birds after several months without them. Knew I'd either get the bluebirds back, or the starlings.

Holy crap the bluebirds I found when I came downstairs this morning!

I feel lucky because the bluebirds have always vastly outnumbered them here. In fact, all of the invasive birds seem to have pretty low populations compared to the native species.

I wish the European starlings weren't invasive and harmful to native birds and thus hated by most birders, because they're really fascinating. Pretty plumage, amazing mimicry ability, interesting personalities.
Also, Mozart had a pet starling and loved the little guy.

One of the few birds I do despise? House Sparrows! (Though I'll still move them to safe spots when they get stunned by hitting windows at work.)

@Fringebirb I’ve got a window suet feeder up, and I’ve had a male and female downy woodpecker couple who have been visiting frequently for almost a year. Beautiful and adorable little buggers 🥰
