Plane carrying Donald Trump made emergency landing in New Orleans after engine failure over Gulf of Mexico

A plane carrying former president Donald Trump suffered engine failure late Saturday evening over the Gulf of Mexico, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in New Orleans shortly after taking off from the city.

The Washington Post
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell feels like Elon won this round. Journos staying and chill is setting in slowly now.
@Isobeln
Reporting only Musk approved speech isn't a good look.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell

@Isobeln @taylorlorenz @drewharwell yep. Binder and others were straight back to tweeting there.

Bloody pathetic.

@taylorlorenz @drewharwell it’s the dumbest fucking rule imaginable. if he’s so bruised about it, why doesn’t he just take charter jets like a normal billionaire and no one will ever know?

@scottmstedman @taylorlorenz @drewharwell

Bernard Arnault sold his jet and “rents planes whenever he flies private.” 🤷🏻‍♀️

Tour the $73 million jet that Bernard Arnault sold for privacy reasons

Arnault said he now rents planes whenever he flies privately. It costs around $11,000 to charter a Bombardier 7500 for an hour.

@marie_cast @scottmstedman @taylorlorenz @drewharwell

This isn't as uncommon as it seems. When most wealthy people purchase major assets like private planes they are held in corporate entities like LLCs or other Corps for tax & liability purposes, & leased to other entities when not in use. The owner essentially leases his own plane anyhow, & expenses it for work-related flights.

@Ubu_Esq @scottmstedman @taylorlorenz @drewharwell
Russian oligarchs/mobsters, corrupt politicians etc. tend to do that to hide their assets but it makes perfect sense. Thank you!
@scottmstedman @taylorlorenz @drewharwell or, gasp, fly first class on the dozens of flights each day between Austin and the bay area.
@scottmstedman @taylorlorenz @drewharwell what we expect him to fly via charter or *gasp* first-class like some peasant, don't be silly he needs some way to piss away all those extra 0's in his bank account plus I'm willing to bet that flying private means he can probably also write off the jet fuel cost as a business expense.

@taylorlorenz
Oh now you are trying to dox Trump in 2017 now?
For some assissinate Baby Hitler time travel plot.
Where do you get off?
And where does this stop?

Next I bet you'll publish the address of where President Trump lived as President in 2017 for your dox obsessed time travel assasins.

@taylorlorenz @drewharwell Elon would sell Twitter users’ flight data and airline reservations to Twitter “partners” (advertisers)if he could.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell and also it’s just the height of fucking irony that this “green champion” is using the single most polluting form of travel (private jet) that a human possibly could.
@Lunarshocked @taylorlorenz @drewharwell that’s exactly why he doesn’t want to be tracked. It has nothing to do with security and everything to do with accountability

@taylorlorenz @drewharwell

Elmo lies like a Republican politician.

@taylorlorenz @drewharwell What is the purpose of tracking Musk's flights?
@dubiago @taylorlorenz @drewharwell Seeing where the richest man on earth goes, after all He is known for playing politics and Meeting ppl like Epstein...
@taylorlorenz being a Minneapolis resident, it's been important to track flights to understand the tools being used to suppress social movements. This is public information for a reason! A true free speech absolutist would understand this, a wannabe authoritarian dictator would not.
@13wiser @taylorlorenz Could you elaborate on what you mean by tools being used to suppress social movements? I'm probably missing something obvious, but I'm not seeing the connection with flights.
@christo various types of aircrafts using varying levels of surveillance technology
@13wiser Got it. That makes sense. Thanks!
@christo you're welcome! After George Floyd's murder, authorities have used the skies as a major tool to crush the political movement growing, especially that happening at George Floyd Square. What early on seemed like conspiracy, was confirmed true using public information about flights. Flight information is important public knowledge we all deserve access to for our safety and freedom!
@13wiser @taylorlorenz I’m working on getting the MilAirMSP account working here this weekend; I imagine @lemonodor is working on spinning up a Sky Circles serve too, at least I hope he is!
@ottergoose wow thanks for this info, Nick! Would love to see it once it's up and running. Best of luck on building it out, the work is appreciated.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell All not acceptable uses under fascism.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell I don’t have the cahonies to post this on Twitter though. I’m too important to have my account suspended.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell Leave it up to Taylor Lorenz to argue for the ethics of keeping track of people and publishing their info for the world to see lmao.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell so you admit you’ve drunk from the well of “assassination coordinates” …
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell what a dumb reason to suspend anyone.
@taylorlorenz @drewharwell all reasonable uses and I hope media will continue to use them

@drewharwell @taylorlorenz

ElonJet never exposed personal location information. Only the publicly available location of an aircraft. Musk-ovite needs a reckoning of reality.
