Since AW is probably not long for this platform, let me impart something uncharacteristically personal. This is difficult and probably enough information to dox me, but I don’t care. 1/
My followers know I’m no fan of You Know Who. But the armchair circulation of Asperger’s misinformation to explain his decisions is repugnant to me. 2/
I will not stand for stigmatization of people on the spectrum. Asperger’s did not make You Know Who an asshole. He did that himself. 3/
I raised a stepson with Asperger’s since he was 5. When he was 12, he began raping my biological daughter, who was 8. This went on for years. My then-wife knew and concealed it. We fled the house as soon as I found out. 4/
Their legal defense? Asperger’s. Charged with aggravated sexual assault of a child, he pleaded down to indecency. Asperger’s did not make him a rapist, but it gave the DA enough pause about whether a jury would convict a defendant with the diagnosis. 5/
For every person on the spectrum who uses their diagnosis as an excuse, there are ten thousand empathetic, loving, and thoroughly wonderful people who don’t. I beg you not to turn this into something it’s not. Don’t add more casualties to You Know Who’s path of destruction. 6/
My kid has been hospitalized five times in the past 18 months. Two serious suicide attempts. Both close calls. And never once did she allow these experiences to diminish her embrace of others on the spectrum. If she can do it, you can do it. 7/
You can easily guess which cow led me out of that darkness. And for that, I am eternally grateful. 8/

As a Learning Disabilities Teacher, I concur.
@weisselberger
I worked with someone with it. She was brilliant but didn't understand social interactions. She was not a purposeful asshole like Mask.
