Fascinating. According to observers Musk's blocking of #Mastodon may be considered an anticompetitive action against a rapidly growing "rival", triggering U.S. federal government involvement.
@lauren it may not be. We really don’t want government making lor abridging laws to limit free speech here.
@JJPeterson Free speech and anticompetitive behavior are not the same issue.
@lauren I will let legal minds decide that because I see no bright line differentiating the two here.
@JJPeterson @lauren that’s because you have the processing power of a turnip

@JJPeterson@toot.
You might want to take a look at the 1st amendment. One part of it protects us from *government* penalizing us for such things as criticizing the government (aka free speech). Anti-competitiveness is something totally different.

@lauren

@JJPeterson @lauren
Public Free speech is protected.
Private Anti-competitive behaviour is prosecuted.
Read the law and discover the difference.
@addressee @lauren
ummm, I’m pretty sure all I said was I will let people who know these things decide, mostly because I don’t care enough to read that. But thanks. You must be from Twitter.
@JJPeterson @lauren you stated you opinion. I stated mine. You must be very insecure about your position if you have to sling insults with your response.
@addressee @JJPeterson If you two want to continue arguing, please remove me from this thread and further replies. Thanks.
@lauren
You are not that special that you can’t deal with a little splash back. Grow up.
