Were DHL always this bad? I was waiting for a package, on their app I saw that the truck was delivering a package to the house behind me. I literally saw the truck through the window. 5 minutes later I'm getting an email that the package couldn't be delivered because the address was incorrect (⁉️), in their email there was a link to correct the address. I'm looking at the address - it had "MA Massachusetts USA" in the end, once I validated my address it removed the word "Massachusetts" from the address and kept all the rest - my address with the street name and number, my town name and "MA, USA" in the end. Incredible. It means that a courier that was driving in the neighborhood delivering multiple packages got thrown off the word Massachusetts? by What is this bullshit?
@0xamit yes. fuck dhl
@Viss @0xamit seconding how bad DHL is. they've ruined more then one appliance shipment for us
@pixelnull @0xamit amazon used them exclusively to deliver to me at my last place for a while. and their drivers would ignore the special instructions I put (the gate code) and complain they couldnt do the delivery, so my shit would never arrive. then they just didnt even bother trying. they'd see my address and put 'couldnt deliver'. so many returns and refunds from amazon, they flatly stopped using dhl to deliver to my neighborhood.

@Viss @0xamit we had to specifically request a vendor to stop using them as it took longer then they quoted and the boxes would never get to us without dings.

not to mention the above. i don't know how you break a shipping box and literally bend a 2u blade to be a curve but DHL did it. then acted like nothing was wrong with the delivery and fought us about it.

@Viss
I've never seen anything like this.
@0xamit first time dealing with dhl?
@Viss
I've had a bad experience with them a few years ago when I lived in a different city. I sent my UK passport for renewal and when it was sent back they used DHL and the courier just left an envelope with both my new and expired passports on the street by the door to the apartment building instead of hand delivering it to me as he was supposed to. But I never ever picked DHL as my favorite method, it's usually when stuff from Europe/Israel gets shipped to my house, whoever ships picks it because it's usually cheaper

@0xamit From what I understand, it's specifically DHL US. In the rest of the world they're just UPS-level bad. Deutsche took a chainsaw to US operations during the acquisition.

They basically only exist to fulfil the US end of international deliveries they can't offload to other carriers.

@0xamit Last time I got something delivered by DHL he couldn't find the central train station despite being on the other side of the road. He also arrived in a rented van for some reason, so while trying to guide him over the phone, I didn't get that he was in the van with Hertz written on it driving in circles around the roundabout.
