Here's a #Pico8#chiptune I finished yesterday, "Strangers Again π". I've been writing a ton of music in the Pico-8 tracker lately. Since I'm new here and this profile is empty, I'll leave a bunch more songs in the replies over the next few days!
A #pico8#chiptune from last wknd, "Hanging On π". While writing this, I realized it reminded me of the music from Sega's Hang-On, a game I pumped lots of quarters into as a kid. Turns out they're in the same key, too. The transitions are rough imo, I ran out of sfx sequences sooner than I expected, but Pico-8's limits are great for my perfectionism bc there's always a point where you're forced to say "good enough"!
@aufreemanmusic Thx! It def takes patience, lol, but I like the challenge. I feel like Iβve learned a ton about music and songwriting in general from being so restricted, if that makes sense!
@Fangh Thank u! It's available as a Pico-8 cart on the BBS. I'm reluctant to do a Bandcamp release bc they all sound terrible on decent speakers. I'd need to do some heavy post-processing if I ever did something like that!
@Fangh Oh totally, u can just export a wav. But I think just mastering that wouldnβt be enough for me, Iβd probably end up writing a program to isolate each instrument, so I could mix it in stereo and add a lot of polish
@Fangh Thx, that's so nice of u to say!!! I guess it's just that if I did a proper audio release, I'd want those tracks to POUND, lol! I might try experimenting w all that this winter and see how it goes!
A #pico8#chiptune I wrote on a rainy Sunday morning, "Beautiful Runaway π". I wasn't sure if it would work until the last moment bc I didn't know if I'd have enough sfx sequences for the glitch sections. It ended up being short but sweet.
@kiriappeee Thanks! This was the result of a lot of experimenting over a couple weeks trying to get the most massive sound I could out of Pico-8, it's been a really interesting journey!
