How can you help democracy right now? Encourage others to leave #twitter
Let them know there is an alternative that is better, safer and healthier.
The #twittermigration is the way people can vote with their feet. Spend less time on Twitter. Even 10-20% less time will have great effects.
Share your good experiences on Mastodon and Post (or wherever) on the Bird app.
Treat it like a campaign because it is. Leaving is the best way to fight back.

I also think it would be helpful to follow as many accounts as you reasonably can either here or on Post.

Especially the bigger ones... if you're running an account with thousands of followers or more, you are driving a lot of engagement/advertising.

Seeing others rebuild their followings elsewhere may make leaving the bird site more viable.

@kivo post isn't accepting anyone last I heard
@Humerus_Patella I think if you go to post.news now you can join a waitlist. They are letting people in in batches and for me it took about a week.

@kivo

On here and Social I follow favorites as they come on

Then I look at whom THEY'RE following and find more faves

That's how I started on the bird, too

@mikemadrid Also, doing weekly favorite follows here and Post will help rebuild the followers list and drive engagement
@mikemadrid Mastodon is nothing but Twitter griping. They'll never leave Twitter.
@mikemadrid I left. Just a half hour ago. It was just unbearable. Glad you’re here!

@mikemadrid Here are four reasons why leaving #twitter is a necessity right now:

You don’t need to stay on Twitter and ‘fight’

@mikemadrid My twitter is a dedicated leaver twitter for mastodon page now.
@mikemadrid I'm here and on Post.news I have not deleted my account on Twitter but I'm spending 95% of my time NOT on the bird app. I'm part of the #twittermigration
