Someone else brought this up but, it is possible that Musk isn't being as erratic as he seems. I think that is likely. We saw in Exhibit H in Twitter v. Musk that advice he was being given by the same people that followed him in was to essentially do a scorched earth campaign that looks a lot like what is happening. So this mentality is definitely a part but I still don't think it is "the plan". Why? Because in their little alt-right techbro bubbles they didn't expect an adverse counter-reaction outside of "snowflake liberal bluechecks" that they wanted off the platform anyway.
