I'm super chuffed to have receive a Blue Flame Award for one of our plasmids distributed by @Addgene
#HappyDepositor

We received the award for our most popular plasmid, pEGFP-RNASEH1 https://www.addgene.org/108699/

We made it as a control for our Nucleic Acids Research paper published in 2011 https://doi.org/10.1093/nar/gkq980

Addgene: pEGFP‐RNASEH1

Plasmid pEGFP‐RNASEH1 from Dr. Andrew Jackson's lab contains the insert RNASEH1 (nuclear isoform) and is published in Nucleic Acids Res. 2011 May;39(9):3652-66. doi: 10.1093/nar/gkq980. Epub 2011 Jan 17. This plasmid is available through Addgene.

pEGFP-RNASEH1 expresses the nuclear isoform of human RNase H1 with a C-terminal GFP tag

It seems to be most popular with labs working on #Rloops, because RNase H1 acts on RNA:DNA hybrids and overexpression can reduce R-loops

The plasmid was cloned by Katie Astell when she did her rotation project under my supervision in 2009, so it was great she visited from her postdoc lab @HuntLabEdin across town to have some cake with us to celebrate the award!
