El Paso is great. Though obviously dealing with a major logistical and humanitarian challenge right now. Delicious food, wonderful people, beautiful mountains and sunsets. Wish I had more time to explore.
(Walkable for Texas does not mean walkable for the northeast— downtown business district has fewer ppl around than I’m used to which I assume is partly a post COVID thing)
@katherinehawkins Might it just be that Texas is more of a car place than DC?
@nlanc for sure. Also my cell service and sense of direction kept failing me so I spent some time walking in circles
@katherinehawkins @ReichlinMelnick I was surprised how much I enjoyed it the first time I got sent there. I feel like El Pasoans are deliberately keeping it secret.
@msmith1047 @katherinehawkins I've been here three times over the past 4.5 years. Enjoyed it every time. Great food and great people!

@katherinehawkins
No. Just no. As a former El Pasoan, I can't agree. It's so boring!

Except for the food. And the mountains... And the food!

@katherinehawkins In all seriousness, I can't wait to get down there next week. My brother works for the city and promised to give me some info on how they're dealing with the migration issues. See if I can help in any way.
