What do you guys think of this idea:
Rather than listen to a lecture in class and then go home to research and write an essay, students listen to recorded lectures and do research at home, then write essays in class, with supervision, even collaboration with peers and teachers.
In flipped classrooms, students wouldn’t use ChatGPT to conjure up a whole essay. And they'd lean to assess the veracity and reliability of A.I.-generated notes.

A.I. can be a learning tool for schools with enough teachers and resources to use it well.

@pernillet

At my school, we already practice some writing in school, but maybe it should be more.
I don't think it would be a succes to flip all lectures. You need the questions from students, and I need to see if they get it .

@pernillet A few friends of mine have worked with flipped classrooms in various formats, and I've seen great stuff come of it. So yeah, I think it could both enrich classroom teaching, and be a way of mitigating the risk of plagiarism through AI.
@pernillet I love the idea. Writing is a challenge for some. People who has difficulty with sequential organization for instance. "(...) see things holistically and find many ways to develop relationships among ideas" (Barton & Starnes, 1988) such type of collaboration would help them.
Besides, writing as way of measuring may mis evaluate actually understanding. What should be evaluated in the first place.
