Actually since is is clearly illegal there would be no need for a trial. The EU can simply ban Twitter from operating in Europe.

In Germany at least the government only needs to ask a (my guess would be specific) judge to issue a decision to ban Twitter. Then the ISPs would simply block the gateway to Twitter.
