May be late to the game here, but I can't update my twitter bio with my Mastodon handle because it is "considered malware" ?
Has anyone had luck recently putting their mastodon handle in?
Even no link and "M@st0d0n" keeps getting flagged as malware...

What happens if you put it on the form of your username @user@instance ? I had it like that since a few weeks but it let me changed my avatar just now.
Automated tools can pick it up. I"ve also made a QR pic with my handle and put it as my avatar as a fallback.
After finally getting something accepted, it looks like the instance "infosec.exchange" was what was getting flagged as malware. The irony!
