Q: what is the design problem term to describe the player that takes over? It's a tabletop term. Not "snowballing" but something else. When the design allows a player makes decisions for others, etc. I have the flu and cannot for the life of me remember it or find it. Thank you!

[EDIT: I found the term in my notes, it is "quarterbacking"]

@christydena I know many co op boardgames have the “alpha player” problem, where one player basically tells the others what to do in their turn for an optimised play. Not sure if you meant this specific issue! 😅
@equaton Yeah, it is that issue! But there is a specific term to describe the design problem. It doesn't refer to the player personality, more what the design allows them to do (take over & do actions on behalf of other players).
@equaton I just found it in my notes! "Quarterbacking" - https://mykindofmeeple.com/quarterbacking-board-games/
Quarterbacking in Board Games (and How to Avoid It)

Quarterbacking happens in co-operative board games when one player dominates the game and ruins it for the other players. How can you avoid quarterbacking?

@christydena thank you so much! I didn’t know it had a specific name! Also that blog looks really interesting 😄
