@secretpeej @herzleid looking back, I don't mind at all, though I sometimes feel odd about what other people say. I felt like it actually made Christmas mean more to me, because if I got a gift I loved but hadn't asked for I knew it meant my mom and dad had been paying attention to me and picked it anyways, not that an elf man magically knew, and that made me feel special and loved. They would still write fun "from" on the gift tags, though - like if I got a shirt with a dog on it, they would write it was "from" the dog. That's a tradition I really like!
People have been very mean to my sister about her choice not to raise her kids to believe in Santa, but our family didn't do it and neither did her husband's (he's from Peru, where it's less a thing.) So I do think that seems rough.
