Think about this.

White supremacists terrorized Black & Indigenous people for 300 years, & when that terror was finally made illegal, white rebel groups rose up to further terrorize Black & Indigenous people for another 100 years, & while zero reparations were paid to remedy that 400 years of terror, now to simply acknowledge that 400 year terror is called the "woke virus."

White privilege is when the cancer of white supremacy is to be ignored—but recalling that history is called "a virus." 😐

@QasimRashid That way of putting it makes so many things clear.
@QasimRashid I’ve been reading Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee. Over and over again, when colonizers were faced with the fact that most indigenous people could meet all of their material needs AND have a surplus of leisure time, they saw a fundamental problem instead of an ideal to strive for. This is the original mind-virus undergirding all the death and destruction which followed, IMHO. Yet it’s so deeply ingrained in “white culture” we don’t even question it.
@QasimRashid white privilege is an atrocity
@QasimRashid lest we forget ....Manifest Destiny....
@QasimRashid Having your eyes open is a subversive act.
#woke #subversion

@QasimRashid

I thought Forrest Gump was a fabled character, but here you have an asshole who became the richest man on the planet

@QasimRashid funny too how many of them forget how their own emigrant ancestors were vilified and hated when they came here. I’m like honey, your great great gramma was Catholic and wore a head scarf and they thought she was trash. But now you’re out there for Columbus and St Patrick’s Day like they were welcomed with open arms. Oh wait, you’re passing .
@QasimRashid Yeah. Exactly. One way to understand “wokeness” is to think about its opposite. And that is pretty much what your post highlighted

Summary:
For marginalized groups, things have always been "polarized." Lethally so.

But when marginalized groups complain about it, the mainstream media writes op-ed pieces about how "Everything is polarized now," revealing that their concept of "us" includes those doing the marginalizing, but not those being marginalized.

Polarization And Strife

When I was a child, they let us out of the classroom twice a day as I recall. You can only hold 25-40 children inside a room the size of an average gas station for so long before the molecule turns unstable and I assume the teacher needs a few stiff drinks, and you can't really have children in the room for that, so out we'd go to scream and pound on each other for a while and hurl ourselves into the air or into walls like sentient superballs, and that was recess—again, as I recall. It was a lo…

@QasimRashid History is alive here in Virginia. So much to visit that confirms what you say yet gives hope for change.
@QasimRashid they’re just scared that Karma is coming & afraid they’ll be treated as sh*ttly as they treated others.
@QasimRashid I hope you don't mind, but I am going to pinch that, with full acknowledgement of course.
@QasimRashid
Indigenous people are still being oppressed

@QasimRashid

Generally, oppressors find ways to justify their lack of humanity/heightened sense of #entitlement, by including those w/ similar identity (physiological, or otherwise,) into their folds - so they feel "a part of" an approved whole, which raises them above *the others*, to look down upon.

It's sad/telling, that CENTURIES of this on REPEAT, hasn't curtailed the pratice. The #PowerHungry, still seek #power, and sabotage humanity for it...

@QasimRashid Don't you think that "white supremacist" is itself, a racist label? I'm caucasian so I'm light skinned. Am I the white that "white supremacist" represents? The words get thrown about so freely, do the people using them understand the racial slur to people who are not BIPOC, nor racist.
@gss @QasimRashid 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 Oh you tried it.
@Mouthygurl @QasimRashid Mouthy girl spit that out. Stop blending and identify the problem.
"Fundamentalism" is the label, not "white supremacy".
Does it surprise you to learn the opposite of Fundamentalism is Liberalism...
What's a Conservative?
Bible thumping religious fundementalists.
Islamic,Hindu, christian, Buddhist, Sikh, are all the same if it's fundamentalist.
Their gods say it's all good to suffer...
While they take advantage.
@QasimRashid Religious intolerance, the idea that people are better if they follow a religion, or a particular religious belief. Many people dismiss religious rhetoric for what it is, I suggest that's an error. The language of what is identified as "white supremacy" originates in the interpretations religion. Don't overlook the effect of "WASP", "white supremacy" visually wipes away the protestant foundation.
@QasimRashid Well, we certainly don’t want to risky white people feeling bad about all this. 🙄
