If I hear anyone else ask me if I’m going to “watch the match”, I’m going to lose it. No, I won’t watch that extremely boring snooze fest of a sport played by overpaid divas in a terrible country, organized by the most corrupt organization on earth, even if it supposedly “brings people together”.

Because it doesn’t. It divides people, and it won’t change anyone’s life for the better, ever. Football is crap.

@thelinuxEXP
Football isn't crap, modern politics are. People actually enjoy the sport, not the politics. I don't like football too, but I can completely understand people that make abstraction of the circumstances of the event just to support their team.
@internetwanderer Making abstraction of how that event is ran is horrible. It means valuing personal enjoyment of a sport over the well-being of the people who have been exploited to bring you that enjoyment. It’s absolutely not normal.
@thelinuxEXP Yes, you are right. At the end Qatar really did achieved to make most people forget about these lost lives. I don't personally watch soccer so I am not watching this world cup, but living in France I see that this sport really took a way too important place in our society. A ball game shouldn't dictate whether or not people should live, and shouldn't dictate the patriotic coherence of a country as it is mostly the case in France.
