God this is the WORST holiday season for me and I've been depressed for weeks. Been the poorest I've been during this season, had someone pass away, couldn't do MFF, and I'm in a VERY ROUGH financial spot. Sales are LACKING hard on Twitter (my main unfortunately) so I was JUST scraping by to get gifts for my partner only.
"Money doesn't buy happiness" is bullshit. This year was agonizing and If I sold a few more things I would be RELIEVED.
Also supper bitter lately over just how rough artist are having it in general. ESPECIALLY twitter though. A lot of us are feeling very pushed out and walked over. If I deadass say anything negative or a challenge about being an artist I get "hmmm perhaps this isn't for YOU" and get told "Dunks is hiring"... Like Folks are seriously suggesting min wage jobs over any form of support or even acknowledging that being an artist is not all rainbows.
Just like any job it ain't perfect for sure
