Hello Mastadon! Here's my #introduction: I'm an Assistant Professor of Biochemistry at the University of Utah specializing in molecular and cellular visualization, particularly 3D animation. We're interested in thinking about how to use visualization in scientific research, communication, education, and outreach. Here's a little montage of animations I've worked on over the years. Do you recognize any?
@jiwasa Looks great! What software do you use?
@anbog
I use Autodesk Maya, but you could use any 3D animation software to create these (including Blender, Cinema4D, 3DS Max, etc). Blender is free and open source, and is probably what I would use if I were learning 3D animation today!
