#GothicAdvent Day 17:
The #Winter Arch sits on the lonely edge of the #IsleOfWight . It stands in position so that through the #Yule season the sun will always set directly between it. No one knows who maintains it or who originally built it, only that it has been there for as long as anyone can remember.
It is built from driftwood, that is skilfully bound together with rope and wooden pegs. Mysteriously being repaired every summer by the Unknown Crafter (as they are known).
It is said to be used by those who are of the cunning to commune with the Somewhen. They hold parle and present offerings to placate the shades and spectres of the other place. For it is known that the growing of the darkness gives these creature a better hold in the world of things.
Many people have said, when they casually pass through the arch, that is feels like they have passed through something ethereal. Yet others report a sense of dread just be being within a stride of this curious wooden passage.
