@jr I've been using Google's phones (Pixel, Nexus) for the last many years, but even when I had a Samsung, I was never keen on using their app store. It always felt like using your ISPs provided email address rather than a Gmail (or hotmail or whatever) email address - you're really locking yourself in unnecessarily.
@Quentin Couldn't agree more.
@jr Actually back when I had my original Samsung Galaxy S (2010! 😲), They gave you, was it Tom Tom GPS? One of the well known car GPS brands anyway - for free, and it was better than early Google maps at the time for directions, and otherwise cost $50 on Google (was it Marketplace back then?) - so that was a good deal. That's the only app I can recall using from an app store other than Google's.
