Day 13 #ArtAdventCalendar
#raku #pottery #vase

One of the things I love and cherish about raku pottery is that each piece is unique and one of a kind due to the variables in the firing process. No two pieces will be exactly alike, not even in the same batch. The anticipation of the reveal while cleaning the pieces from charred reduction material and soot creates countless moments of joy for the maker.

@alchemistsstudio I'll try this kind of firing for the first time tomorrow. Really excited about that !
@magautbrain AMAZING! wishing you much favour from the raku gods! I hope you'll post some pictures, I'm excited to see. One of my all time favourite pieces is from my first firing!
@alchemistsstudio Now I'm even more excited than before   I'll post the pictures for sure, no matter what!
@magautbrain I'll keep my eyes open for them 😊
@alchemistsstudio I love that pop of red, too. Makes me want to do some raku again.
@PRManning2 Thanks Pat! I'd love to see what you make when you can no longer resist the siren's call of raku!
@alchemistsstudio and thanks to you, I have now went researching to discover what Raku pottery is. The piece in your pic is lovely btw.

@alchemistsstudio i dont know what i like more: wasabi or wabisabi.
@Carljo 😂😂😂. Why choose? Or maybe go for some wasabi on a wabi-sabi plate 🤔
@alchemistsstudio Terrific color on this piece.
@lensandpedals Thank you! I'm very happy with how that blue turned out! I hope you enjoy your weekend!
