If you’re wondering about Mastodon’s impact, Twitter is now automatically marking links to mastodon as “sensitive” (aka dangerous) and forcing users who get them to “appeal” the claim. In case Elon didn’t seem desperate enough for you already…
@joshuatopolsky It’s not just links to Mastodon. It happened to me just using the word mastodon in another context. My link was actually to a story about mastodon DNA being sequenced at the MIT Technology Review

@joshuatopolsky @TimH

Had to test this out myself and lol!!!!

@PhilipMartin @joshuatopolsky @TimH Looks like they were ok with your appeal and have removed the warning... I'm not seeing it now.

I did a quick search for "mastodon" too and I'm not seeing it on other posts (maybe they realized how pathetic that was and removed it).

@Bluedonkey @joshuatopolsky @TimH

This is what I see right now:

@PhilipMartin @joshuatopolsky @TimH Apparently, I had content warnings disabled. Don't recall doing that, but maybe I did.

@Bluedonkey @joshuatopolsky @TimH

No worries! They haven't responded to my appeal and given my negligible following/status on Twitter, I doubt it is any sort or priority.

"Respond to randos appealing auto keyword content warnings" is way, WAY down the list.

They've got to keep up with an ever changing kaleidoscope of phrases and words that Elmo finds emasculating or insulting, before they get to my little post.

Elmo only has like 800 workers left to keep up with everything, right?
