If you look up to the sky with your naked eyes, the starry band of the Milky way appears constant.

If you could see it in X-rays - and we do, with space-based X-ray telescopes - it would be all glittering: here a black hole starting or ceasing to accrete from its stellar companion. There a neutron star on an eccentric orbit. A nova brightening up, a microquasar turning it's jets on and off ...

Less than an hour drive from me they are working on interfacing AI with acrobatic killbots funded by DARPA from Boston Robotics. They can do backflips and parkour, and fire guns.

They already created working killbots that act autonomously or under remote control, but they aren't approved for public release yet (although that almost happened last week)
This. is. bad. We can't wave this away with optimism.

Artificial intelligence of course can have many legitimate uses, but it also poses a number of existential threats to the existence of mankind, on a spiritual and physical level.

As amazing and powerful as science is, however, it has a very specific domain: It only reveals phenomenon in the natural world. Science, math, computer programming - all that tells us nothing about right and wrong, good and evil.... continued....
