Another piece raising important objections to article processing charges (#APCs) but falsely assuming that all or most #openaccess depends on them. It mentions no-fee (#diamond) OA journals and #green OA without elaboration, and seems unaware that 70% of peer-reviewed OA journals charge no APCs.

@petersuber Without a doubt, the most under-appreciated fact about open access.
@petersuber So disappointing. Odd that even some light peer review or editorial work never flushed out these obvious errors. Yes, this journal isn't exactly the destination for OA commentary -- but this paper is so far off the mark that even a casual reviewer or editor should be notionally aware that OA goes beyond APCs...
@g3om4c @petersuber Just reading this paper and also baffled by the fact that #openaccess = APCs was waived through peer review. Some of the arguments are of course valid but there is clearly lots of commentary out there that points to alternative OA models!
