What have been your favourite #books of the year? Please drop me a few recommendations and (spoiler free) descriptions.

I’m open to most anything but prefer a more lighthearted read, as my life naturally brings me plenty of stressful moments and I don’t want to read about more. (So no scary stuff or thrillers pls)

I have some #Audible credits to burn! Let’s do this.

Will My Cat Eat My Eyeballs?: Big Questions from Tiny Mortals - Caitlin Doughty
Interesting stories resulting from answering common questions asked of an American Mortician

Anxious People: A Novel - Fredrik Bachman
Great lovely story from Backman (author of A Man Called Ove) illustrating interconnectedness, mercy and empathy.

Crying in H Mart - Michelle Zauner - Memoir of front singer of the Band - Japanese Breakfast.

@pooblemoo @britt I really liked crying in H Mart too
@IbuMichele @pooblemoo @britt Crying in H-mart is so so good
@eldritchteacozy @pooblemoo @britt and I was worried because of it being about parental relationships but she tells the story so well
@IbuMichele @pooblemoo @britt yeah she really nails the tone and the idea of food as a form of connection
@pooblemoo @britt I had forgotten which one Anxious People was. Oh that was wonderful!
@IbuMichele @pooblemoo @britt I haven't read Anxious People yet, but would like to
@likewise @IbuMichele @britt It took me a bit because there are cutaways that felt a little confusing at first but then I got used to the cadence and it all started falling into place. After I finished I wanted to buy several copies and just give them away as gifts.
@IbuMichele @britt I really hope she continues writing. It was such an intimate view into an intense period of her life.
