I cannot see posts from some people on other instances. I can follow them and see their profile page, about, post counts, etc, but no actual posts. What is the cause of this? Specifically, I’d like to follow my online acquaintance @deafblind who just joined from his own instance, but I’ve noticed it in some other cases as well. @support

@o0_o @deafblind Hello. It looks like you're following that account now. I see that it hasn't posted in about 9 hours from looking at its local account page. The next time the account makes a public post, you should be able to see it.

@o0_o @support It's good to connect with you on Mastodon. I'm very new to this platform as you know, but it is my understanding that you can't see old posts, replies, media, etc ... from accounts on a different instance (server). But you should see everything from here forth, and visa versa.
