🚨​INFOSEC.EXCHANGE UPDATE🚨

I applied the Treehouse fork of the Glitch Fork of Mastodon to a new instance, https://risky.af. That instance now has quote toot capabilities. I am intending to apply it to infosec.exchange, however I want to operate with it there for a bit before I move it to this site with 46000 accounts 😅​ It seems to be working ok, however I have enough drama in my life without hosing up the instance for everyone.

I had hoped to apply the search patch as well, however it's currently breaking the ability to post, so that is suboptimal and needs to get sorted out before I can apply it (the patch will let you change the order of search results, and search *public/listed* posts that are posted on or seen by the infosec.exchange instance.)

I don’t feel like I should have to say this, but here we are…

Threats of violence, offers to kill someone, encouraging suicide, and/or any related awful comments, harassment, or related behavior is not welcome and will result in suspension without warning.

Claiming “it was a joke” is unlikely to help. Also, using the “appeal” functionality to take a parting shot at the moderators may feel good, but it just further evidence that person doesn’t belong here.

Accounts demonstrating such behavior on other instances will similarly be suspended and if moderators on the originating instance do not take action, we may suspend the instance.

Hi everyone. I know many people struggle with the verification link. I just found what I think is a bug... If you include capital letters in the link in your profile, the verification will not work. Or at least not in all the testing I've done. I don'tt know yet if this is a glitch-soc specific issue or all of mastodon.

If you are having trouble with link verification, please ensure it's all lower case in your profile.
