I’m not particularly interested in anything to do with the Royal Family but I am interested in keeping abreast with the news, as such I watched #Harry&Meghan today.
My overriding impression is that they seem decent, the racism and hate they’ve endured is obscene, and the British Tabloids are an abomination.
The fact they dared to mention the hostility and increase in hate crimes caused by #Brexit is precisely why the haters are up in arms, and is refreshing, the racists hate being called racist.
@JohannaSaunders there's something very wrong with people being outraged at being called racist yet not being outraged at the racism. Tells a big story does that...
@Firecracker2804 Precisely, it’s just so blatant. Watching the scene around Brexit was fascinating because all of it is true and you could just picture people scrambling for “other” reasons to claim their hatred is justified.
@Firecracker2804 @JohannaSaunders Brexit has made so many things so much worse. And more blatant.
@JohannaSaunders I'm not a royalist and there's always two sides of bias, but the establishment and the biggest hitters therein with their public school, righteous white colonial attitudes, surprises me not that some shit went down however minor but repeatedly and wide spread it would leave a large enough tell. "The British establishment is racist and xenophobic" - shock horror, not.
