@emptywheel Important note: the perpetrators were trying to shut down a drag show. One of them claimed credit on her Facebook page and has been arrested. She seems pretty bananapants.
@MisuseCase @emptywheel can you point me to a source? This morning’s arrest warrants are under seal according to local news (WAVY). Last I heard Rainey was questioned because of her FB posts but not arrested. She’s all kinds of evil but the Goog hasn’t given me anything more.

@splicer @emptywheel My apologies, I think I got this in some initial “fog of war” commentary on social media.

Now it seems there have been copycat attacks on power grid stations in the PNW. There has been chatter in white supremacist networks about attacking the power grid for years but they haven’t actually moved on it until now.

@MisuseCase @emptywheel We ought to know soon (I hope). I get that they don’t want to tip off the people that they haven’t yet arrested with the press release, but once those warrants are executed and the people are actually arrested, that becomes public record?

@splicer @emptywheel I imagine so. They probably want to try and nab them all at once if possible, or if that fails, try to get one or more of them to squeal on the others.

Fortunately the latter is not hard to do at all, and these kinds of people are also terrible at operational security (ask the antifascist researchers who monitor them).
