Now seems like a good time to remind you that the Pentagon just failed its fifth consecutive annual audit.
‘Not the progress I would have hoped for’: Pentagon fails latest financial audit

The situation in Ukraine is providing a “teachable moment” for why it matters that the Defense Department accomplish a clean audit that establishes it has an accurate count of everything its purchased.

Breaking Defense
@rbreich Well Robert, how do you fund black book projects if you do proper accounting of your overinflated budget?

@rbreich

Why hasn't Congress addressed this?

@rbreich 70% of the weapons delivered to the Ukraine landed on the black market. The EU is dragging its feet on paying the US Lend Lease bill for the Ukraine. People are beginning to realize here in Germany that the war will go on for years not months.
@rbreich Every news regarding with USA confirms it is a failed country.
@rbreich I think they send squadrons of auditors in, never to be heard from again.
@rbreich In fairness, the government has never played by the rules they write for everyone else and likely never will.
@rbreich Nope. Nothing to worry about here... 👀
@rbreich what kind of audit?
Financial?
Processes?
Or what?

@rbreich

With all the staff they have, it's hard to believe the amount of assets that go missing. Somebody knows where this stuff goes.

@rbreich There must be no repercussions if it has happened 5 times in a row. Sounds like heads need to roll.

@rbreich

“ You don’t actually think they spend $20,000 on a hammer, $30,000 on a toilet seat, do you?”
Independence Day , they knew whereof they spoke.

@rbreich The scariest part is that there are $millions in stolen weapons cached in places like North Carolina.
@rbreich also a reminder that all this info is call to action, as apposed to serving ground for knowledge boasting. Protesting is the only way to have change. This info, and all info coming from Bernie and Reich is fuel to do so, not fun little facts about current economic affairs.

#Protest read about it in my profile.
@rbreich because they couldn’t account for 61% of their assets
@rbreich  But it's a "patriotic" failure. Those don't count.
@rbreich who runs/controls the Pentagon? It does not seem to be accountable to Taxpayers or politicians?
@rbreich what's a few billion dollars between friends.
