@publicdomainrev This is beautiful and reminds me of a map I’ve seen recently in a presentation about the (possible) location of the Battle of Mohi (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Mohi). This was one of the most consequential battles for the Kingdom of Hungary against the Mongol Empire, yet we still could not locate where it happened exactly. The most likely reason is the changing course of the river Sajó, that dominates this landscape.
